M.I.A. has blasted MTV for not nominating her 'Borders' video for a VMA.
She tweeted: "MIA - BORDERS is not included in the VMAs #hahahahhaahahhaha!!," adding the snub smacks of: "Racism sexism classism elitism..."
"This is a perfect example of 'allowed' voice vs excluded voices. Even if U direct it... not here 4 EGO or Accolades but know before you tell other artists they have the same platform as major US artists coz they don't (sic)."
She added: "#f**ktheVMAs we don't need their recognition!! Keeping our future in the books."
The video features the Sri Lankan rapper and a group of refugees attempting to find a new home.

Her provocative lyrics include the lines: "Politics/What's up with that?/Police shots/What's up with that?/Identities/What's up with that?/Your privilege/What's up with that?/Broke people/What's up with that?/Boat people/What's up with that?"
M.I.A's latest tweet comes weeks after she was dumped from the bill of the Afropunk London festival. She claimed she was dropped for comments she made about the Black Lives Matter movement.
