The track is the first new music from Kiwanuka in 3 years.
Singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka has released a new song, ‘Floating Parade’ which was debuted during his performance on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage last month.
‘Floating Parade’ sees Kiwanuka work with producers Danger Mouse and Inflo, who he collaborated with on his previous two albums.
In a statement, Kiwanuka said that the song is “written about utilising your senses to find an escape, particularly in oppressive circumstances, whether spiritually or physically.”
“The floating parade is the metaphorical movement of taking yourself out of an uncomfortable situation and seeking comfort elsewhere, driven almost solely by the power of the mind.”
The North London born artist earned critical acclaim for his 2012 debut, Home Again, a record that earned him several award nominations.
