The performers will play R.E.M.'s album Fables of The Reconstruction in its entirety.
Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy have announced a headline show at Dublin’s The Button Factory, set for August 27.
Presale begins this Wednesday, with general sales kicking off on March 6. The performers began their North American tour in February celebrating the 40th anniversary of R.E.M.’s 1985 album, Fables of The Reconstruction. They will also play at shows across the UK beginning in August.
“This music is beyond comprehension and I cherish every chance I get to deliver it, even second generation,” said Shannon. “R.E.M. means the world to me. And this band led by Jason is stone cold ridiculous. Even if I never walked onstage, you would get a hell of a show.”
The two began performing together in 2014, playing entire albums across Chicago from artists like Neil Young, Bob Dylan and The Smiths. In July of 2023 they performed R.E.M.'s debut album Murmur, with a special appearance from the band’s bass guitarist Mike Mills.
Shannon is known best for his acting career, appearing in movies such as Complete Unknown, Take Shelter and 12 Strong. Narducy earned acclaim for his involvement in bands like, Verböten, Superchunk and Sunny Day Real Estate.

“I had never done a tour before,” said Shannon. “Jason nudged me after the Murmur set in Chicago at Metro. Now it’s all I want to do.”
Supporting the two performers will be Dag Juhlin, Vijay Tellis-Nayak, John Stirratt and Jon Wurster.
“It will be the 40th anniversary of Fables Of The Reconstruction so we will open with that album, in sequence,” said Narducy. “Then we will dig deep into the R.E.M. catalog to round out the performance. Each show will have unique setlists. We love celebrating the music of this great band.”
Tickets for their Dublin show will be available here.
