Microdisney just announced an upcoming gig in Dublin set for early next year.
The gig will take place on Monday, February 18, at Vicar street.
The Cork crew consists of Cathal Coughlan (vocals), Sean O’Hagan (guitar), Jon Fell (bass) and Tom Fenner (drums). After forming in 1980, the band reached the Irish Top 40 with their single ‘Town to Town’ in 1987. They became one of the few Irish bands to find international success in the 1980s.
This year, after a 30 year hiatus, the group decided to reconvene to perform their seminal album The Clock Comes Down The Stairs at the National Concert Hall and The Barbican. Coughlan spoke highly of their experience on at their recent shows.
“We were genuinely moved by the response to the 2018 shows, and we feel it’s right to play once more, to a standing audience at Vicar Street, and to offer a fresh slant on the Microdisney songbook,” Coughlan said.
