Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda responds to reports that Chester Bennington had MDMA in his system the night he took his own life.
Chester Bennington's band mate, Mike Shinoda, has denied initial and false claims that drugs played a part in his death. Bennington died by suicide last July at the age of 41. Shinoda took to Twitter to address these reports:
“Just clearing this up: TMZ erroneously printed CB had MDMA in his system when he passed. That was incorrect, they misread the report. They have since corrected their piece, see below. I hope other publications have the decency to do the same.”

TMZ has now procured Bennington's autopsy and have indicated that the singer had a small amount of alcohol in his system at the time of his death. Authorities are also said to have found a bottle of prescription drug Zolpidem on Bennington’s dresser. The autopsy report ruled his death as "characteristic of suicidal hanging" and noted that Bennington had "a history of suicidal ideation." After entering rehab in 2006, he allegedly suffered relapses in the months leading up to his death.
