Ahead of his 3Olympia show in October, The Streets frontman, Mike Skinner has announced an in-store signing event at Dublin's Tower Records.

In August, Skinner announced ‘The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light’, his self-directed debut feature film. Coinciding with the new film, The Streets will also be returning, with a UK/Ireland tour and a brand new LP — their first in over a decade.

A psychedelic neo-noir, Skinner's debut follows the escapades of a down-on-his-luck DJ — winding through the dingey corners of London's clubland in a tripped out murder mystery.

Skinner has written, directed, shot, edited, scored, funded, and even created his own special effects on the film, shooting at a number of different locations in 2022 across the UK.

The songs on the album soundtrack the film, though both elements of the project can be enjoyed separately. Of the new multimedia project, Skinner said: “The way the album was written was very much with the film in mind."

"The songs weave around the scenes and the dialogue to give a bigger picture of what’s going on - sometimes really acting as the narrator..."

A "classic Streets album," ‘The Darker The Shadow The Brighter The Light’, promises to be a vibrant return to form; blending bass, garage and house, with trademark tongue-in-cheek humour and Skinner's incisive lyrics.

While in Dublin for his tour, Skinner will be at Tower Records on October 24th, signing album copies for fans who have pre-ordered the new record.

Fans can pre-order the album on Limited Edition Coke Bottle Green Vinyl, Standard Black Vinyl, or CD, via Tower Records, in order to gain guaranteed access to the upcoming event.

The Streets will play Dublin's 3Olympia on the 23rd and 24th of October, with tickets available here.
