Miley Cyrus shows her support for the #FreeBritney movement, joining the growing ranks of Spears' celebrity supporters.
At a fourth of July performance in Las Vegas, Miley Cyrus turned 'Party in the USA' into a #FreeBritney anthem, singing, "the taxi man turned on the radio, he turned to me and said, 'free Britney! Free Britney!"
Cyrus didn't stop there: "The Jay-Z Song – honestly, fuck Jay-Z. Free, free, free, free Britney!'" The singer later clarified she intended no hate towards the rapper, but "we gotta free this bitch – it's stressing me the fuck out!"
Cyrus is the next in a long line of celebrities to publicly endorse the #FreeBritney movement. The two musicians have a number of things in common, both starting out as child stars on Disney before breaking out of that role to forge careers as prolific pop icons. Cyrus has been a fervent Britney supporter since 2019, when she chanted 'free Britney' during another performance of 'Party in the USA' in Memphis. Earlier this year, she shouted "we love Britney" during a pregame Super Bowl performance with Joan Jett and Billy Idol.

This renewed call for justice comes just days after Spears' request to remove her father from her conservatorship was denied. Support for Spears amongst her peers only seems to be growing, Larry Rudolph, Spears' longtime manager, has announced his resignation after learning of the pop star's intentions to officially retire. Rudolph claims that he has not heard from Spears for "over 2 1/2 years" and that it is in "Britney's best interest for me to resign...as my professional services are no longer needed."

Christina Aguilera, another musician with a similar career path and Spears' Mickey Mouse Club co-star, has also spoken out in favour of the #FreeBritney movement on Twitter.
These past few days I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through.

A new report on Spears' conservatorship has revealed further allegations of mistreatment. The report describes a 911 phone call Spears made on the eve before her testimony (during which she finally got to tell her side of the conservatorship story) to report herself as a victim of an abusive conservatorship. Spears' is scheduled for another court date on July 14.
