It's all Gordon Brown's fault!
The first stand-alone MindField festival in the POD complex has been postponed due to that pesky Gordon Brown.
“Following the announcement of the date of the British general election as May 6, a number of key UK-based speakers and hosts who had been booked for MindField became unavailable due to TV schedule commitments that were more demanding of their time than had been anticipated for the weekend of April 30 to May 2,” reads an official statement. “We have taken the decision to postpone the MindField event until later in the year when we hope to programme a full event rather than proceed without a number of our high profile speakers. Full refunds for all shows are available from the point of purchase.”
Among those who had been due to take part in the mainly spoken word bash were Jon Snow, Howard Marks, John Cooper Clarke, Robert Fisk and former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell.
MindField will however be returning to the Electric Picnic between September 4 and 6.
