The events allegedly took place in the late 90s around when the band started. CW: This article contains description of alleged sexual abuse of a minor.
Jimmy Urine (real name James Eurlinger) from the New York electro-punk band Mindless Self Indulgence has been sued for sexual battery of a minor.
The lawsuit comes from a woman who has remained anonymous. She was a minor when the alleged offences happened, and the lawsuit states that James Eurlinger engaged in a sexual relationship with her while she was underage in the late 1990s.
When the woman was aged 15 and Eurlinger 27, he allegedly began to "groom and manipulate the Plaintiff into thinking that his sexually assaultive behavior was not criminal and that he and Plaintiff were in fact in a relationship," court documents state.
The lawsuit then also argues that Euringer acknowledged that she was a minor and behaved "as though she was his girlfriend and the two were in a consensual relationship."
He also requested that she "act like a small child" during sexual acts and "play it cool" in public, only displaying affection in private, while also supplying her with a fake I.D. to attend concerts with him and drink alcohol.

The band's manager and producer James Galus is also listed in the suit, for negligence and aiding and abetting sexual battery, along with labels Elektra and Warner Music.
Mindless Self Indulgence gained wider prominence on Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution tour back in 2007, playing with bands such as My Chemical Romance before going on hiatus in 2014.
