American DJ Moby has released new track ‘Where Is Your Pride' in commemoration of the life of British activist and writer Benjamin Zephaniah.
Moby has released the new track ‘Where Is Your Pride’ featuring the late voice of Benjamin Zephaniah, who passed away late last year aged 65 as a result of a brain tumour.
Remembered for his activism in both human and animal rights movements across the UK, as well as his poetry and no less than 16 doctorates, Zephaniah served as an inspiration to Moby, whose own Christian ideals and beliefs aligned with that of the activist, "As a vegan activist, and as a wise and compassionate man, Benjamin inspired me for many years.”
Continuing, Moby explained that "'Where is Your Pride' hopes to honour his legacy and also draws people's attention to his life, work, and principles."
Coming to rise on the electronic dance scene in the mid-90s, New York-based Moby has secured his role as a DJ superstar with tracks such as ‘Porcelain' and 'Natural Blues', which soared him to a level of international stardom. Defining himself from the norm early on in his career, Moby has found his individual sound through a fusion of rapid rhythmic beats, distorted guitar, and deep soulful bass while also drawing inspiration from popular music and culture.
