Moncrieff and Loah's performances for Van Morrison's 75th birthday celebration are going live tonight.
Following stellar performances for 'Rave On, Van Morrison' last night, we're bringing you another special evening of back-to-back Van covers – with Moncrieff performing 'Hungry For Your Love', followed by Loah performing 'If I Ever Needed Someone'.
Over the course of the YouTube event, celebrating Van Morrison's 75th birthday, you can expect even more renditions of his remarkable songs from some of the most iconic names in the country – including President Michael D. Higgins with Bill Whelan, Hozier, Sinéad O'Connor, Bob Geldof, and Glen Hansard , to name just a few.
Having already made major waves in the UK, with strong airplay from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, as well as a shoutout from none other than Elton John on his Beats 1 show, Moncrieff is poised to be the next Irish superstar. Following the success of his The Early Hurts EP, the Tramore native played a stellar sold-out show at The Sound House, Dublin and announced a major headliner in The Academy. He released his latest single ‘PLAYLOUD’ earlier this summer.
Irish-Sierra Leonian singer-songwriter Loah (aka Sallay-Matu Garnett) has been producing some of the most interesting music in Ireland for a number of years. After releasing her debut EP This Heart in 2017, the she released a string of remixes with Bantum, Elaine Mai and Fehdah – and starred as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Barbican in London.
Moncrieff's performance of 'Hungry For Your Love' (7pm Irish Standard Time) and Loah's performance of 'If I Ever Needed Someone' (8pm) premiere tonight, August 25, on the Hot Press YouTube channel.
