Third Smoke, Slow Place Like Home, Wolff and Maija Sofia are among the latest acts announced for the Firestone Stage at Vantastival. The Firestone Stage at Vantastival is a key event within Firestone Live, an original programme of festivals sponsored by Firestone tyres. Firestone Live funds festivals across Europe in Spain, Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Denmark, Ireland and the UK.
25 unsigned acts will perform at the Firestone Music Station, a stage set up as a 1930s Route 66 gas station, customised with bespoke tyre furniture. Also added to the stage’s line up are Brain Donation, Kid Coy, Video Blue, Waking Android, Dr. Mindflip, FXY and local Drogheda acts The Skins and Fuzz Gigolo.
Firestone also runs a Battle of the Bands competition with the winner receiving a coveted prize of music equipment and recording time worth €4,000 and the opportunity to headline the Firestone stage in 2018 and return as an act on the Main Stage in 2019. The voting is open until midnight on April 8, via the Firestone and Vantastival Facebook pages or directly here. Firestone pride themselves with their efforts to promote emerging ‘grass roots’ musicians, and the competition showcases their ongoing involvement.
The Vantastival festival is held across the June bank holiday weekend, June 1- 3, at Beaulieu House and Gardens, Drogheda, Co Louth. The unique selling point of the festival is the focus on campervan lifestyle, with the majority of patrons choosing to set up their van on site. This family friendly festival is not exclusionary, and has a dedicated campsite for those who would prefer to camp in tents. Vantastival also offers a smorgasbord of gourmet food stalls, traders, activities for kids and families and a variety of arts and crafts stalls.
