Paul Nolan and Stuart Clark revisit Motörhead’s classic trio of Overkill, Bomber and Ace Of Spades. Plus interviews with Dave Grohl and Metallica’s Robert Trujillo.
In the latest episode Hot Press Classics, Paul Nolan and Start Clark take a deep dive into a triple classic with Motörhead’s Overkill, Bomber and Ace Of Spades. They discuss Dave Grohl's relationship with Lemmy and the band, Motörhead’s punk-influenced heavy metal sound, the band's biker-culture inspired aesthetic and more.
The episode also examines Motörhead's uniquely heavy and ferocious live sound, their masterful blend of noise and melody, and the mystique surrounding Lemmy's background.
Elsewhere, they put forward archival footage of an interview of Hot Press chief editor Niall Stokes, where the interviewer reads out an article on Motörhead in an RTÉ documentary about the magazine.
To round up the episode, Nolan brings back interviews with Dave Grohl, where he discusses his love for Motörhead and his collaboration with Slash and Lemmy, as well as Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, who examines his relationship with Lemmy and their all-too-short friendship.
