Glo-sticks at the ready! A German-based Irish producer is about to unleash a banging new EP
Michael Lovatt, a Dublin producer living in Berlin, has an all-Irish EP due on Melonsound Records on June 17. The Gleamer sees him teaming up with vocalist Robyn Bromfield, and there are also mixes by Johnny Trotter from Sligo and Andrew Hosey from Dublin. See melonsound.com and soundcloud.com/michaellovatt
American producer Delroy Edwards has announced two Irish dates in support of his White Owl 12” EP, which has been picked up by the ever-so-popular L.I.E.S imprint. His June 7 visit to Dublin’s Grand Social celebrates the launch of another label, the homegrown Minicosm Records, and is being run in association with the Red Bull Music Academy. The following night finds Edwards heading south for a gig at Cork’s Half Moon Theatre. Wouldn’t dowtcha boy!
Happy first birthday to Dublin’s Residence, which has booked some of the biggest names in dance. The promoter is showing little sign of letting up. W&W and Tom Staar hit The Village, Dublin on June 14. That’s followed by Residence’s first Button Factory gig, in the form of Matthias Tanzmann on June 7.
Donegal’s Sea Session Festival runs from June 21 – 23. Let’s hope the weather is as hot as the line-up, which includes Aeroplane, Beardyman, Mr. Scruff, Gilles Peterson, Billy Scurry, Bedlam DJs, Paul Webb and Nightflight DJs.

Back in the People’s Republic, it’s happy second birthday to visual arts collective and label Feel Good Lost! Run by Brendan Canty, FGL! is behind new acts such as Young Wonder who really have been doing ‘wondrous’ things this year.
