Debut single does not disappoint
Dublin band The Murder Capital release ‘Feeling Fades’, a single that fulfils on early promise - a brooding, propulsive slice of post-punk. It was recorded with prolific producer Flood who has previously worked with PJ Harvey, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Foals.
In one of their rare interviews so far, the band have stated they are driven by the genuine desire to affect cultural change, and when frontman James McGovern repeats the lyric “the now elapsed ‘round you and me, and it kept us all together” on this, their debut single, you start to believe that they’re capable of achieving just that.
Frontman, James McGovern recently took part in our Christmas round table, and Hot Press' Ed Murphy was lucky enough to see one of the bands stellar live gigs last year, you can read his review here. In just over a year, the band have played alongside Slaves, Shame and fellow countrymen Fontaines DC.
