LYRA looks back on 2023...
Your Hero of 2023?
My sister, every year and she always will be. She keeps me going when I doubt myself. She’s always there for me whenever I need her, and this year making my album I really needed her by my side.
Villain of 2023?
Baby Shark! My sister’s kids have just discovered Baby Shark and it has been playing in my mind 24/7.
Best Personal Moment?
Playing the main stage at Electric Picnic. It’s something I have always dreamed of, and to be able to play it this year was a memory I will never forget. It also gave me even more fire to start headlining festivals.
Best Movie or TV show?
I don’t know if you know, but I’m obsessed with The Grinch (the original movie). I watch it throughout the year, not just at the Christmas period, so it will forever be one of my favourite movies of every year.
Best record?
It would have to be Miley Cyrus’ Flowers or Kylie Minogue’s Padam Padam. I mean two bangers!

Best book?
The Power Of Letting Go by John Purkiss. I’m still not finished it. I pick it up and down whenever I’m on the train, but it’s something I need to learn how to do, so I’m going to make sure I finish the book.
Best thing you saw online?
I streamed Glastonbury online, and I do have to say I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Other than that it was a dog, rocking a baby to sleep. It was super cute.
Your hope for next year?
That everyone loves my album and can feel the blood, sweat and tears I have put into creating this artwork for them.
What tickled your funny bone?
When I answered the call from a letting agent, thinking it was my doctor and proceeded to explain to him that I was thinking about getting my eggs frozen.
