This pairing of a Cork techno-wizard and an African/French chanteuse is set to make a sizeable (and well-deserved) commercial impact given the marketability of the Mitisse sound and image, (not to mention the much-publicised inclusion of one of the songs in Madonna's last film).
With a wealth of sumptuous rhythm, deep sinewy bass lines and sultry vocals, 'Sousounde' reverberates with shadowy warmth and desire, while 'Boom Boom Ba' deliberately turns the lights low for satin-draped seduction. Aida sings in a mixture of French, English and an assortment of African dialects, on occasion bringing matters to a breathy climax.
The tracks are mostly minimal in their use of instrumentation, with most of the texture provided by the vocals threading their tapestry around the beats.

Comparisons to mellow mood-setters Enigma, who achieved mega success and mass appeal with a similar kind of sound, are inevitable and almost invited in the use of similar song titles like 'Sadness' and 'My Fault', but Mitisse definitely have something. Mitisse are very much music to chill out to, or even music to make the earth move in a 'boom boom shake da boudoir' sense.
