"It means so much to me to be awarded this award. All of the hard work and all of the sacrifices feel so worth it," says Smith.
Myles Smith has been named as BBC Introducing Artist Of The Year, following in the footsteps of artists such as Olivia Dean, Declan McKenna and Nia Archives.
The 26 year old English artist topped the charts earlier this year with his platinum single 'Stargazing', which earned him a spot on former US President Barack Obama's Summer Playlist.
The folk pop singer has been releasing music online since 2017, with his latest EP featuring Grammy-nominated artist James Bay.
Speaking of the award, Smith said, “I literally cannot believe I’m BBC Introducing Artist Of The Year. It means so much to me to be awarded this award. All of the hard work and all of the sacrifices feel so worth it. BBC Introducing to me is more than just this small family. It's a real culture,” Smith added.
“It's a real thing that moves people's lives and changes people's lives in so many different ways, and going from the uploader to this award and now touring the world shows its impact”.
