Irish DIY noise outfit Naked Lungs have dropped their debut single ‘Database’ and announced a headline show at Workman’s on March 26th.
The track was produced by Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox and is a huge statement from the group who have been building up their name through word of mouth. ‘Database’ is a frenetic noise rock track full of muscular guitars and jaw-cracking drums.
“The track came about as we collectively tried to harness and contain the intense noise of the band into a sub-three-minute track. Kind of like fitting a pint into a shot glass. No frills — no bullshit,” the group explained.
‘Database’ arrives with a dark and unsettling music video set in a multi-story car park and shot in black and white. The visuals were shot by the group’s bassist Ryan Mortell and sees the band perform covered in what appears to be blood.
The group have also announced a headline show at Workman’s on March 26th with more live shows planned for 2022. Tickets for the event are available here.

Naked Lungs — comprising Tom Brady, Andrew Connaughton, Matthew Pyper and Ryan Mortell — have been making noise and gathering momentum in recent months. They burst onto the scene with ‘Second Song,’ a self-produced live recording.
Despite ‘Database’ only being the group’s second release, Naked Lungs have held a number of supporting spots with high-profile Irish stars. The four-piece brought their infectious live energy to the stage along with Enola Gay, Bullet Girl and The Love Buzz at the turn of the year.
