Ahead of the release of his album, The Strange Order of Things, Snow Patrol's Nathan Connolly drops a new acoustic video for his single 'Fires,' featuring Simon Neil.
Nathan Connolly, the guitarist of the acclaimed Northern Irish rock band Snow Patrol, released the single 'Fires' earlier this month.
Striking it out in the music on his own, it's a departure from previous projects with Snow Patrol and his side project, Little Matador, which he started in 2013. He's been working on a solo album since 2017 with the producer Rocky O'Reilly in Belfast.
Previously the Hot Press Track of the Day, 'Fires' is a preview to The Strange Order of Things, coming out April 21st via Third Bar/Virgin Music. The single was co-written by and features Connolly's long-time friend Biffy Clyro's Simon Neil.
"I have known Simon since back in my early days with Snow Patrol," Connolly shares.
"The first show I remember playing together was a Zane Lowe MTV Gonzo show in Glasgow in 2003. Over the years we occasionally mentioned doing something together at some point. Finally, the opportunity came in the form of Fires. He is extraordinary and came at the song from somewhere I don’t think I would or could have."
Dave Magee, a bandmate from Little Matador, also lent his "effortless gift for the riff" writing skills to the single.

Now, 'Fires' also has a video to accompany it.
Starting with tuning guitars and bellied laughter, the acoustic video is a sincere and perfect introduction to Connolly's music.
