love:live music, Ireland’s first National Music Day is co-ordinated by Music Network in association with RTÉ Lyric FM.
On April 16, live music events will take place in cities and towns across the country, including morning improvisations, lunchtime harpers on the bridge, afternoon piano recitals, evening concerts, late night rock sessions and open air and impromptu performances.
Throughout the day, RTÉ lyric fm will broadcast highlights from events around the country.

A selection of the events taking place include:
A free traditional Irish music concert at 8pm in The Button Factory, featuring Slide, Fidil and duo Brendan Begley & Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh.

A free concert at St. John’s Church in Limerick, from 2pm featuring pianist Greg Felton and bandmates Cormac O’Brien and Seán Carpio, drums who will team up with special guest vocalist Isa Wiss.
The 65 Kitchen Choir will perform a selection of their songs in St. Canice's Training Centre, Portlaoise, Co. Laois throughout the day
A 12-hour Music Marathon will take place in the CIT Cork School of Music with students of all ages and levels taking part.
