Derry-based composer, songwriter, and performer Neil Burns will launch his new album, Golden Sunsets, live on Saturday, March 8, at 2 p.m. at Black Box, Belfast. The release is part of the Brilliant Corners Festival, Belfast’s annual jazz festival.
Burns previously performed at Brilliant Corners in 2022 under his jazz/alt-pop alias Comrade Hat. This time, he returns under his own name with an album that blends song writing, arranging, and improvisation. The record incorporates elements of chamber music, jazz, tango, bossa nova, chanson, and shanty, performed by a full ensemble featuring horns, strings, and vocals.
Donegal folk and roots group The Henry Girls are part of the ensemble alongside other contributing musicians. The sister trio are featured on the album in the track 'A Wanderer's Communion'.

Doors open at 2:00 p.m. Standard tickets are £15 (€18.11), while concession tickets for students, the unwaged, retirees, and those on low incomes are £10 (€12.08) each.
