It’s hard to believe that Neil Diamond is celebrating his 50th anniversary since he became a household name with his first major hit single with ‘Solidarity Man’ all the way back in 1966.
To mark this half-century milestone, Neil Diamond will embark on a "massive world tour" in 2017. Already, 39 shows have been lined across the US, with more shows expected to be confirmed at a later date.
As of yet, no European dates have been confirmed. But it would appear unlikely that the 75-year-old won't be visiting Europe considering that its been described as a "massive world tour" by his promoters.
No doubt, Irish fans will be hoping that ‘The Jazz Singer’ star – who has made frequent visits to our shores - will once again be returning here to perform as part of his 50th anniversary tour.
"Neil Diamond is more than just a music icon. His singular artistry and talent has left an indelible mark on American culture and has helped shape the sound of popular music for five decades," Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino said in a statement.
Neil Diamond has also released a new album for the Christmas festivities, aptly entitled ‘Acoustic Christmas’.
Neil Diamond appeared last night on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to discuss his plans, which you can watch here:
