In a post on his official website, Young calls actress Daryl Hannah “my wife,” then proceeds to criticise the NRA
Along with announcing he has married the environmental activist and releasing the official live video of ‘Ohio,’ the Canadian singer wrote a blog post calling for increased gun control in the US. It comes after 11 people were shot dead at a synagogue in Pittsburgh. Young originally wrote the protest song in 1970 in reaction to the Kent State shootings.
He said the shootings marked: “A pivotal moment in our history. It was a pivotal moment for me.”
“Today’s students are brave, demanding change in violent times.”
“Support the students. Support our children. They want protection. Not more guns.”
“Give us common sense gun laws that protect our people, in schools, in places of worship, in the workplace and on the streets. VOTE.”

The Crosby, Stills, Young and Nash singer further stated, Hannah, had helped him create the politically charged video. Speculation was rife the Canadian singer, 72, and Hannah, 57, walked down the aisle back in August after blues guitarist, Mark Miller, posted a congratulatory message on Facebook. Young was previously married to singer-songwriter, Pegi Young, for 36 years.
This year, Young appeared in and wrote the soundtrack for the Netflix film Paradox, a western musical directed by Hannah.
