'Hypnotic State' is set for release on Friday, May 26th via 95 Records, with a limited number of 12” vinyl singles available from Friday, 23rd June.
DJ and producer Dec Pierce has teamed up with Rubyworks for the launch of their new label 95 Records.
“95” marks the year that producer Pierce began his career as a DJ, gigging in clubs around Dublin, and presenting on pirate radio station, Pulse FM. Pulse was one of the largest underground FM platforms in Ireland at the time.
For the past six years, Today FM has seen Dec present Block Rockin Beats, which never fails to trend every Friday night on social media.
The show’s success has allowed Pierce to turn it into the Block Rockin Beats live gig experience- a unique blend of massive songs which combine the original hits augmented by live musicians, to venues all over Ireland. This year the show takes place at Fairview Park on Saturday, June 24th.
Speaking on the achievement, Pierce has said, “Getting an opportunity to launch 95 Records is a dream come true. It’s something I’ve wanted to do from the beginning of my career.”

“Dance music is my passion and I want to work closely with both existing and emerging artists to give them a platform to showcase their talents on a national and global stage,” the producer continued.
Niall Muckian of Rubyworks also spoke on 95 Records' debut, stating, “From our own recent remix collaborations with the likes of Galantis, Anton Powers, Fatboy Slim, Sofi Tukker. John Gibbons, Redondo and Cahill; the mirrorball has been spinning over the Rubyworks dancefloor for a while now.”
“We’re thrilled that Dec will be bringing his knowledge, expertise and experience to the table for 95.”
Adding to Muckain’s remarks, the Today FM DJ continued, adding, “95 Records will give the cream of Irish and international dance music a new platform. Teaming up with Rubyworks Records and working with the people who helped put Hozier on the map, was a key part of this project for me.”
“We have an incredible team behind the scenes at 95 and Rubyworks. A team that is passionate about music and that cares deeply about their artists. I’m very excited to get started with this project.”
The record label makes its debut with one of the Irish DJ’s favourite tracks- ‘Hypnotic State’. Sometimes mistakenly called ‘Unlimited Dreams’, the track is Italian producers S.P.Q.R’s, and originally debuted on an obscure Irish label in 1993. The trance track has grown in popularity since then and an original vinyl of the record could set you back over €100 today.
With the seed for the idea having been planted during lockdown, Dec tracked down the track's original producer, Federico Di Giambattista in Italy, who was convinced by Pierce to return to the studio to remake and remaster the original ‘Hypnotic State’. It was Irish singer Lea Heart who the Today FM DJ chose to record a fresh vocal topline which he has since aired on his radio show.
