The singer-songwriter's new song will be released this evening on all streaming platforms.
Dermot Kennedy is set to release his newest single 'Better Days' and its accompanying video at precisely 6.10 pm this evening. This will be the first new track from Kennedy since the success of his 2020 single 'Giants' from his 2019 debut album Without Fear.
Whilst he prepares to release new music, the excitement surrounding the Rathcoole artist's first album has barely settled. Since its debut in October 2019, Without Fear has achieved 28 non-consecutive weeks at number one on the album chart with Kennedy banking over one billion streams for his music overall.
Earlier this year, BIMM Dublin announced its brand new scholarship in partnership with Kennedy, which is set to support rising Irish talent. The scholarship aims to help emerging musicians who are trying to kickstart their music careers. The recipient, chosen by Kennedy himself, will have their course fees paid fully.
“I’m so, so excited to have this scholarship awarded in my name, in the same town where I fell in love with music, played my first show and found my way through a life in music. I’m particularly excited about choosing the recipient and hopefully helping them on their own musical journey and in creating their own story,” the singer said in a recent Instagram post.
Kennedy has also been announced as a collaborator on the 30 year anniversary rerelease of Metallica's Black Album. The 53 track compilation will feature covers of the iconic 1991 record including Kennedy's version of 'Nothing Else Matters'.
Despite an already busy year, Kennedy has found time to write new original music. With two upcoming Belfast shows in September and 2022 tour dates on the horizon,'Better Days' is surely set to whet the appetites of fans.
