The rock band are due to play Dublin's 3Arena on May 7th 2023 with tickets on sale via Ticketmaster.
Duran Duran and their former guitarist Andy Taylor are teaming up again to work on a new album. Bassist John Taylor, when speaking to The Mirror, revealed that the group were inspired to work on a new record with Taylor after the revelation of his battle with stage four metastatic prostate cancer. Duran Duran revealed the former guitarist’s diagnosis when they were being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last November, which Taylor himself was absent from, being unable to attend.
John Taylor explained, “We’re working on an album right now that is going to be coming out at the end of the year and [Andy Taylor] is playing guitar.”
“There’s a lot of cover songs on the album, songs meaningful to us when we were kids. So having him be a part of that project is great,” he added.
The band’s frontman Simon LeBon is due to travel to Taylor’s studio in Ibiza to record with this former bandmate, John Taylor has said. The remainder of the album will be recorded between Los Angeles and London.
The English rock band confirmed the news via Instagram with a post on Monday, stating they are “thrilled to confirm a special project is in the works, set for release later this year on BMG.”
“The new recordings will feature extended Duran Duran family and friends, including our former bandmate Andy Taylor who will join us on guitar on a few tracks.”
