Fizz will release their debut album on September 15th.
UK-based supergroup FIZZ have released their latest single 'Close One' ahead of their debut album The Secret To Life, which is due in September via Decca Records.
The band is made up of four successful artists in their own right, Ireland's Orla Gartland, Greta Isaac, dodie, and Martin Luke Brown.
'Close One' is the third single from the band, following 'High In Brighton' and 'Hell of a Ride'. However, it separates itself from the other singles by taking a softer look at the nostalgia of lost love. The song is led vocally by Dublin's Orla Gartland, and depicts "ex-lovers toeing the boundaries which they placed there for good reason, walking the line of a fatal error; mistaking chaos for excitement."
In a press release, FIZZ said the song "had something interesting, a different feeling to the other songs [they] had been collecting.” Speaking on the song's process, they recounted the story of its creation. "It was night time at the studio and Martin and Mat (drummer and honorary 5th member of FIZZ) were up late jamming in the way that only Martin and Mat can. The next morning they presented their idea to the group and ‘Close One’ began."
FIZZ recently announced a headline UK and Ireland tour and will play a headline show at Dublin's Vicar Street on September 27th. The band also launched a podcast 'Sunday with FIZZ', in which the members and self-proclaimed best friends talk about songs from their debut album, play games and discuss life in a band.
