Theatre and performance maker Louise White is set to debut her latest show at the Project on 6 November.
Entitled 'This Is The Funeral Of Your Life', it’s a show that came out of the experience of her own father’s funeral some four years ago.
She was compelled to bring the show to the stage after hearing all the stories of his incredible legacy and how beloved he was in their community, and made her think, “What if I died tomorrow, what would my legacy be?”
She thought this could be an interesting concept for an audience to explore in a theatrical environment.
Throughout her diverse theatrical career, Louise has worked with performers and participants’ personal stories; interweaving them into the narrative of acclaimed productions such as 'Mother You' and 'Way Back Home', which won the Spirit of the Fringe in 2013.
Three performers: a dancer, an actor and a mezzo soprano will create a playful environment in a show that invites audiences to examine the possibilities around their own personal legacy.
A great team has been put together for the show – Lian Bell has designed the set, Gary Keegan is the dramaturg.
The show features Philip Connaghton (dancer), Lucy Miller (actress) and Michelle O’Rourke (Mezzo Soprano)
In fact, the creative team is like a "who’s who" of behind the scenes Irish theatre world.
"This bold and original theatrical experience will invite the audience to play a game of imagination and risk in a warm and supportive encounter with …… themselves. A chance to explore their own attitudes and experiences of families, humor, taboos, loss, relationships and love," read a press blurb for the show.
It will run from 03 - 11 November at the Project Arts Centre (The Cube).
Show Time is 7.45pm nightly. Tickets: €16 - €18 Bookings can be made on www.projectartscentre.ie
