Headliners for New Music Dublin 2024 include A Winged Victory for the Sullen, the National Symphony Orchestra and more.
This year's programme for New Music Dublin features 17 Irish and 27 world premieres – including Saturday-night festival headliners A Winged Victory for the Sullen and the National Symphony Orchestra.
New Music Dublin is an annual festival that focuses on innovation in music and sound art. Their goal is to curate a diverse lineup of artists to appeal to a broad audience. The festival, which is directed by John Harris, is presented in partnership with the National Concert Hall & RTÉ and supported by The Arts Council of Ireland & Culture Ireland.
There will also be many acts returning to New Music Dublin this year including RTÉ Concert Orchestra with Gavin Maloney conducting, Chamber Choir Ireland, Evlana Sinfonietta, Cór na nÓg & Cor Linn and Brian Irvine’s Totally Made Up Orchestra.
Many Irish acts will be debuting at the festival including Stone Drawn Circles, Decoder Ensemble who will perform with Laura Bowler, as well as Adam Wyeth, Owen Roe and Aisling O’Sullivan with music from David Downes. Musici Ireland will also make their first appearance.
The Saturday morning of the festival will welcome many international acts including Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, the Royal Academy of Music London and the Monochrome Project which is led by Marco Blaauw with students from the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

Bekah Simms and Ann Cleare will perform and Crash Ensemble will bring back their project entitled Crashworks for emerging composers. Diatribe Records will present their programme, Diatribe Stage, at the festival. They will bring performers such as Aoife Ní Bhriain, Liam Byrne, duo Diamanda La Berge Dramm and Anne La Berge, duo Nathan Sherman and Alex Petcu, the Barry Guy Quartet and Mariam Rezaei.
“We don’t just host a festival; we create a space where the new, the unknown, and the unheard can flourish,” John Harris reflects. “Our programme is a testament to the vibrant creativity alive in Ireland and around the world, offering something truly new for everyone.”
New Music Dublin will run from April 25 through April 28 at the National Concert Hall and various venues across Dublin. Tickets will vary in price from €10 to €32.50 depending on the event and all student and unwaged concession tickets costing €10.
