The new Bandcamp-style website, allows artists to sell their music and retain the earnings
AC55ID is a new music marketplace that has emerged as an alternative to platforms like Bandcamp that offers independent artists and labels a fair and transparent environment. It operates based on a subscription model, making sure that artists receive 100% of earnings from both digital and physical sales, and not taking any percentage of the revenue.
Speaking about the launch, AC55ID CEO James said, "We were inspired by the success of Bandcamp Fridays, where the first Friday of each month saw Bandcamp waiving its revenue share. We've taken this idea a step further by guaranteeing artists and labels an unprecedented 100 percent of their earnings consistently. Our pledge covers all digital and physical sales through its marketplace, aiming to foster a fairer ecosystem for independent creators."
There is a monthly fee of $10 for artists and $29 for labels, and AC55ID provides unlimited digital downloads, and shipping of vinyl and merchandise to consumers. The platform also offers full pricing and quantity control, event schedule displays, and unlimited redownloads of music purchases.

Through its On-Demand Vinyl Pressing service, AC55ID can ship artist's vinyls. They use a technology called Bio Vinyl, a petroleum-free alternative made from cooking oil or industrial exhaust gases, minimizing waste and environmental repercussions. AC55ID also said that artists can use a fan-powered campaign “[to] customise various elements such as vinyl colour, weight, jacket style, and more, all without any financial risk or upfront investment.”
