New wave hitmakers The Vapors play Dublin's Opium Rooms
It's the UK outfit's first gig in 35 years!
Ace ‘70s-into-‘80s power poppers The Vapors play their first gig in 35 years (there was lots of stuff to be done around the house) on October 14 when they visit Dublin’s Opium Rooms.
Managed by Paul’s dad Paul Weller and Jam bassist Bruce Foxton, the Guildford four-piece scored a worldwide hit with ‘Turning Japanese’ but despite an arsenal of other quality tunes failed to repeat the success and went their separate ways after two albums. Some sartorial crimes were committed along the way – hey, we were younger and impetuous back then! – but the songs still sound razor-sharp.
Support is provided by The Dubtones and RTÉ DJ Jacqui Carroll with tickets €27.
