’Lullaby For The World’ was co written by Brendan Graham, who penned the hit 'You Raise Me Up' and numerous successful Eurovision tracks.
County Kildare family band The Mahers are determined to create a musical call to climate action with their new track, 'Lullaby For The World'.
The Mahers consist of Dave Maher and his three daughters; 12-year-old The Voice UK act Ruby, 17-year-old Robyn and 19-year-old Stacy, who attends the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts school in England.
'Lullaby For The World' was co-written by one of Ireland's most revered songwriters, Brendan Graham, who is known for his role in writing global hit 'You Raise Me Up' as well as several Eurovision triumphs.
When it comes to a subject that can be as politically and socially sensitive as climate change, 'Lullaby For The World' is layered with emotional depth, carrying within it a message of undeniable truth. The song reached No. 2 in the Irish download charts in the days following its release, which gave a huge boost to the musical family. The song has arrived in time for Earth Day 2021, set to take place on April 22nd.
“The girls and myself see ‘Lullaby For The World’ as a song that is global and one which belongs to all of us. We feel honoured to be the ones who have the good fortune to record it,” multi-instrumentalist Dave Maher says of the song.

“We’re so exited about this track. The reaction from the people of Ireland has been wonderful; there’s a real sense that the people of Ireland want to rally round us and champion this beautiful thought proving song. It’s an anthem for the world; a better world, one that cherishes and protects our beautiful planet and its resources”.
Dave features on guitar throughout the track, which sees all four Mahers share vocal duties. 12-year-old Ruby's star quality is clear on 'Lullaby For The World'. Performing as Ruby M, impressed Will.I.Am during her blind audition on ‘The Voice Kids UK’ in 2020.
“If we can just all work together and even just get people to start with things like littering we can make a start and a difference and save our beautiful world," Ruby M says of the new project.
“I’m asking all kids in Ireland to get involved in World Earth Day on April 22nd, and spend even five minutes picking up litter around their own streets and roads," Ruby adds. "Just think of what we could do if we all got behind this initiative. We could do it every year, it would be brilliant.”
"It’s something all us kids can do in a safe and socially distanced way and it means we’re taking action. My big brother Danny died of a rare form of cancer. He was only 10 and it made me realise that we have to do what we can while we can.”
Often the best ideas are the most simple and effective and Ruby’s call for the children of Ireland to come out on the 22nd April could be the lightning rod for a hugely successful movement in Ireland," Dave says.
"The kids are the custodians of our earth so educating, engaging and energising them with a vision of a clean, safe and beautiful world is one of the best things we can do."

The Mahers have been signed by none other than Rick Blaskey - who ‘discovered’ Whitney Houston at 16 singing with her mother in a choir. Blaskey then managed the international side of the record company for her worldwide launch.
Rick speaks highly of The Mahers, predicting huge success for the group.
“I always approached launching Whitney as so much more than just launching a new record and I have the exact same feeling with The Mahers," he commented.
"I have always been far more excited to work with artists who I believe transcend current genres and trends and who I can see have the widest possible appeal to the biggest audiences. The Mahers have genuine likeability, a unique personal story and sound and a global market to embrace them”.
