"We can’t thank Cara enough for her time, dedication, and all the energy she brought to the band," NewDad have remarked. "She taught us so much and she will always be part of our story..."
In a statement shared to social media over the weekend, NewDad have revealed that they and their bassist Cara Joshi "have decided to part ways", and "embrace new opportunities."
Cara – a London-raised musician with Irish heritage – joined the Galway-formed band in 2022, replacing their original bass player, Áindle O’Beirn. As a member of NewDad, she featured on the cover of the 'Hot For 2024' issue of Hot Press, in January 2024.
"We’ve been spending a lot of time in the studio lately, crafting new songs and exploring a fresh direction for our sound," NewDad's announcement reads. "It’s been such an exciting and inspiring process, and we can’t wait for you to hear what we’ve been working on.
"During this process, after some heartfelt conversations, we and our bass player Cara, have decided to part ways. As NewDad heads into a new chapter, we felt this was the right time for all of us to embrace new opportunities."
