Niall McCabe has announced the release of his new album Stranger, out on May 9.
The artist has an Irish and UK tour planned, visiting Cork, Dublin, Westport and Galway in May.
“The album is about feeling like a stranger—in your own skin, in your hometown, in the world—but also about finding your way back to connection,” he said.
McCabe performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville on March 15th, receiving a standing ovation during its 100th anniversary year. He was joined by Ron Block of Alison Krauss & Union Station on the banjo.

“Having Ron on stage with me was incredible,” McCabe said. “Union Station’s music was a big part of the soundtrack in our house growing up. It felt like Irish folk and American roots music were all converging in that moment—like the music I’ve always loved had somehow carried me to that stage.”
McCabe toured across Ireland and the UK with Transatlantic Sessions in February. His performance in March continued to highlight the connection between Irish folk and Americana.
“The Opry was one of those moments where everything made sense,” he said. “Coming from a small island off the west coast of Ireland, I had no right to be there—but somehow, it felt like coming home.”
