‘Beehive’ is available now via Claddagh Records.
The folk music scene welcomes a fresh voice today with the release of debut single ‘Beehive’, from gifted singer-songwriter Niamh Bury.
The track is accompanied by an ethereal video that visually complements Bury’s dreamlike tune.
“Beehive is about the overlapping of myth, folk wisdom, and science, ” said the singer. “It was inspired by a passage from a book I was reading about a tribe in the Amazon who say that the human brain is like a beehive – at once chaotic and intricately ordered.”
Bury has already made inroads in the Irish music scene in the last six months, collaborating with acts like Ye Vagabonds, Martin Hayes, Myles O'Reilly, Niamh Regan, and Cinder Well.
She was also chosen by Dermot Kennedy for an exclusive gig at The Long Hall in Dublin as part of the Guinness’s Live and Rising campaign.

In addition to this Bury has made appearances at festivals such as St. Patrick’s Festival, Body & Soul, Quiet Lights, and Dún Laoghaire Folk Festival.
She is also one of the chief organisers of the iconic traditional singing session ‘The Night Before Larry Got Stretched’, held monthly at The Cobblestone Pub.
The release of ‘Beehive’ by Niamh Bury comes just a week after Claddagh Records shared experimental doom folk outfit ØXN’s debut single, ‘Love Henry’, heralding a new era for the iconic Irish label with music from its first new signings in almost two decades.
