The writer confirms he is also working on a script for a virtual reality film.
U2 and Apple teamed up to bring London concert-goers their first virtual reality music video at the O2 over the weekend and Nick Hornby has told Hot Press how impressed he was with the immersive 'Song For Someone' clip.
Hornby, who recently penned the screenplay for the film adaptation of Colm Toibin's Brooklyn, has been working with the video's director Chris Milk on a full-length VR film.
"[Chris Milk] showed the U2 video to me when he was in London and it's really mind-blowing. Bono's singing to you and then the guitar comes in... It's all around you. But then other voices coming in. This will be a really big deal, the VR thing. You just are in this world."
Speaking of his own upcoming VR project, he said:
"I'm writing this thing at the moment for Jason Reitman and Chris Milk that I'm excited about. [Chris] got on to me saying they're going to write a movie and would I write the script? What they can do is unbelievable."
Brooklyn, starring Saoirse Ronan and Downhill Gleeson, is out now
