Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have announced a major open-air headline show at Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin on August 27 – where they'll be joined by special guests Primal Scream and Happy Mondays.
This Dublin show completes an extended run of outdoor summer shows that will follow the release of Gallagher’s eagerly anticipated new album, Council Skies, out June 2. The LP is available to pre-order now here.
Following three UK No.1 studio albums, 2021 saw the release of Back the Way We Came: Vol. 1 (2011–2021) – a 'Best Of' album marking a decade of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. The band went on to play Glastonbury's Pyramid stage in June 2022, delivering a career-spanning set to one of the weekend’s biggest crowds.
Council Skies, Gallagher says, is about "going back to the beginning."
“Daydreaming, looking up at the sky and wondering about what life could be … that’s as true to me now as it was in the early ‘90s," he continues. "When I was growing up in poverty and unemployment, music took me out of that. Top of the Pops on TV transformed your Thursday night into this fantasy world, and that’s what I think music should be. I want my music to be elevating and transforming in some way."
