The new single and video arrive ahead of Noel Gallagher's Royal Hospital Kilmainham Show on August 27th.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds have revealed the video for their new single 'Open The Door, See What You Find'.
The candid performance video was filmed in the legendary Studio 1 at Abbey Road Studios where the track's strings were recorded last year.
The track is one of three on the band's newest record to feature the Smiths' Johnny Marr on guitar. "Johnny’s guitar here is great – distinctive, and simple, and you wouldn’t think it was him playing on it," Hot Press' June cover star Noel Gallagher said about the track.
Discussing the process of writing and recording the track at his North London Lone Star Studios, he went into detail about the lyrics of the song. "Lyrically, the premise is that at a certain point in your life that you look in a mirror and you see all you’ve ever been and all you’re ever going to be. And it’s about being happy with that. Being happy with where you are in life, with who you are, and where you’re going. Life is good!”

The single follows other singles from their newest album Council Skies, including 'Pretty Boy', 'Easy Now', and the record's title track. Council Skies is the band's fourth studio album, and was released last month, more than a decade on from High Flying Birds' formation in 2009. The record was produced by Gallagher and Paul 'Strangeboy' Stacey and released on Sour Mash Records and was well-received. It is regarded by some as Noel's most complete solo statement yet.
The High Flying Birds are set to play the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin on 27 August. The band has been living up to their name, embarking on a 26-date US tour with co-headliners Garbage. This weekend, they will begin the UK and Irish leg of the tour, playing a series of summer outdoor shows, before their full UK arena tour in December 2023. You can find tickets here.
