The Malahide-bound Mancunian has cited both Chris De Burgh and Slipknot as influences on the new single.
With his highly anticipated Malahide Castle gig just two weeks away, Noel Gallagher has shared a brand new single, 'Rattling Rose'. The track is the latest offering from the upcoming Black Star Dancing EP, due out on June 14.
In contrast to the EP's title track released earlier this month, a disco-influenced single that channels the likes of David Bowie, U2, Queen and INXS, Noel has revealed that 'Rattling Rose' was inspired by a very different cast of musicians, including Chris De Burgh, Chris Rea, Mike and the Mechanics and even Slipknot.
Coincidently, Noel's new track arrives the same day at his brother Liam's latest single, 'Shockwave'. Liam recently took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Noel and his High Flying Birds' latest musical direction:

Noel arrives at Malahide Castle fresh from a headlining slot at the Isle of Wight Festival, and will join the Smashing Pumpkins on a North American tour later this summer. He brings a supporting lineup of top-class international indie-rock talent to Dublin, including Blossoms, Doves, DMA'S and Inhaler.
