The 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the iconic 1994 album Definitely Maybe is on track to return to No. 1.
Oasis are on their way to dominate the UK Official Albums Chart this week following the announcement of their reunion shows.
The Definitely Maybe 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition is predicted to lift four spots, returning to the top for the first time in many years, although, to date, the original record has spent a total of 556 weeks in the Top 100.
The new format features tracks from the discarded original recording session at Monnow Valley Studios, along with outtakes from the definitive album recorded at Sawmills Studios in Cornwall, newly mixed for the first time by Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho, as well as an unreleased demo version of ‘Sad Song’. Originally released as a bonus track on the LP, this alternative version features Liam Gallagher’s vocals.
Oasis’ 2009 hits compilation Time Flies is also expected to jump one spot. Their second studio LP, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory is set to hold in the Top 5.
The band’s 1994 single ‘Live Forever’ has also entered the race for this week’s Official No. 1 single, while The Masterplan should jump from 63 to 35, and the 1997 Be Here Now is set to enter the Top 40.
