Their debut EP was recorded in Hell Fire Studios.
Recorded, mixed and produced by Gavin Glass, Kildare band October Fires have released their debut EP titled Everybody Knows. The five-track record was pieced together in the confines of Orphan Studios situated in the Hell Fire, and showcases the array of differing tones and moods that the group are capable of, ranging from tongue-in-cheek grooves to tribal and ritualistic eeriness.
Their origins begin in 2002, when pianist, vocalist and percussionist Carol Somers and pianist Lisa Baker met when studying music in Maynooth University. Their musical bond formed instantly and the pair have been inseparable ever since, leading to them forming October Fires along with bassist Eoghan O'Neill and guitarist Eric Somers in September of last year.
They are a band that like many contemporary acts are difficult to pigeon-hole into a single genre, and describe their music as being haunting, harmonic, dark pop that takes influences from and fuses choral music, classical, pop, soul, funk, folk and rock.
