T-Swift and Lana are back on top with their newest releases.
It shouldn’t come as a shock that the reigning queen of the charts Taylor Swift has snatched the number one album of the week on the official Irish charts. Her new record Lover remains at the top, beating out some enormous new releases in the process. She certainly has a dedicated Irish fanbase, remember in 2018 when Taylor was the first female artist to perform back to back stadium shows in Ireland?
Next up, sliding in at number 2 is Norman Fu**ing Rockwell from none other than Lana Del Rey, who performed at Malahide Castle in Dublin last year. This means she also claims the title of highest new entry. The record isn’t only popular, it also garnered a wave of critical acclaim.
Staying on the charts for yet another week at number 3 is Ed Sheeran with his No. 6 Collaborations Project. Featuring some of the biggest names in the music industry, it makes sense he's back on the top 3 for another week.
A bit of an anomaly on the list amidst all the radio-friendly pop is the progressive-metal act Tool with their comeback record Inoculum. Pretty impressive to see a group with what seemed like waning relevancy shoot right back up on the charts after so many years of silence.

Then at number five is Lewis Capaldi with Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. He’s been on the charts for some time now and is still hanging on. That’s how it goes when you make one of the best records of the year!
Lastly, over on the Irish homegrown chart our boy Dermot Kennedy tops it yet again with his smash Outnumbered. We’re huge fans over here at Hot Press and can’t stop thinking about his performance at Electric Picnic last weekend.
