Following his Rave On, Van Morrison directorial success, the Derry guitarist has returned with a new video.
Hot Press is delighted to premiere the official YouTube music video for ‘In The Arms Of My Love', a song punctuated by beautiful if unexpected vocal harmonies, by Derry guitarist, songwriter and director Paul Casey.
"'In The Arms Of My Love’ is, obviously, a love song”, Casey tells Hot Press. "During these different times you realise who are the people closest to your heart. It’s a song to remind myself of that – and to celebrate it”.
The song was written, recorded, produced and filmed by Casey at his Cable Junction Studio in Derry. In the video, the guitarist makes the most of social distance restrictions in a smart treatment of footage throughout.

Along with Casey on guitar and vocal duties, the 'In The Arms Of My Love' video features an all-star line up of Liam Bradley on Drums & Percussion, John McCullough (Hammond & Rhodes), Damien McGeehan (Fiddle) and Alexander Korukovetz whose accordion footage was shot in St. Petersburg. On backing vocals is the exquisite voice of Lauren Doherty.
Doherty, the talented Derry singer is one half of Amberlight – Casey completes the duo – who also release their new single ‘Peace At Last’ on Friday. Amberlight also delivered in spades for Hot Press' Van Morrison celebrations last year, with their unique take on 'Celtic New Year’.
"'Peace At Last' is about coming out of this past year stronger”, says Doherty. "It’s a song about throwing away the things that have tied us down, and realising that you already hold the answer. It’s about the memories of when you were happiest."
Here’s an exclusive trailer for 'Peace At Last':
Last year, Casey set the stage for his music videos – and staked his claim as an exciting new light in music video production – when he directed his take on Van Morrison’s ‘In The Days Before Rock ’N’ Roll’ for Hot Press’ Rave On, Van Morrison! initiative.
The video for 'In The Arms Of My Love' takes inspiration from the Van video, again highlighting the musicianship of his band, with the footage shot across Northern Ireland, and even in Russia!
