Oisin Leech announced his biggest headline show to date as part of his UK and Irish tour.
On Saturday October 26, Oisin Leech will play at Union Chapel in London as part of his tour to celebrate his debut LP Cold Sea.
The album was produced and recorded in Donegal by Steve Gunn, a Brooklyn musician. Artists like M Ward (Matt Ward), Tony Garnier, Roisín McGrory and Dónal Lunny were also featured.
Cold Sea has reached the top 20 on the Official UK Folk Charts. Leech was also seen performing at Other Voices and has been invited to perform at the International Literature Festival Dublin in Merrion Square on May 20.
When talking about the album in an interview with Hot Press's Niamh Browne, Leech said, “We found this little abandoned school house from the 1800s. But it was warm, dry and woodpanelled, so the acoustics were great. And we literally borrowed gear from neighbours. There’s a guy called Billy Robinson, who tour manages Clannad. He had this beautiful 1970s U87 microphone, so we called to him that morning.
In May, Leech will play his first Belfast show as part of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival on May 7 followed by an appearance at the Deer’s Head this August where he was invited to play at Another Love Story Festival in Meath.
Leech will be on tour starting in London on April 30. He will play 14 shows across England, Scotland and Ireland before the last show on November 14 in Dublin. Tickets for his tour can be found here.
