Guts is Rodrigo’s follow up to her Grammy-winning debut album Sour.
Olivia Rodrigo has shared advice given to her by Jack White and St. Vincent in the lead up to her sophomore album Guts.
Speaking to the The New York Times, Rodrigo explained how looked to White for help while writing the record.
“He wrote me this letter the first time I met him that said, ‘Your only job is to write music that you would want to hear on the radio,’” she said. “I mean, writing songs that you would like to hear on the radio is in fact very hard.”
St. Vincent was another veteran musician offering mentorship to Rodrigo. Also speaking to The New York Times, St. Vincent- born Annie Clark- said she “never met anyone so young and so effortlessly self-possessed. [Rodrigo] knows who she is and what she wants — and doesn’t seem to be in any way afraid of voicing that. And just a really lovely girl too,” she added. “I’ve never heard her say a bad word about anyone.”
Guts is Rodrigo’s follow up to her Grammy-winning debut album Sour. The record will feature tracks such as ‘All American Bitch, ‘Love Is Embarrassing’, ‘Pretty Isn’t Pretty’, ‘Ballad Of A Homeschooled Girl’ and more. See the tracklist reveal below.

Earlier this month, the American singer shared the track ‘bad idea right?’
It was the second single from GUTS, following up from ‘vampire’ which came out at the end of June.
“I had such a fun time making this song with Dan Nigro in nyc last year,” said the singer on an Instagram post. “We wrote the chorus as a joke but we loved it so much we made it into a full fledged song.
