The group's anniversary will celebrated on July 23.
Marking 10 years since they were formed on The X Factor, One Direction are gearing up for a special anniversary celebration – with a "new 1D anniversary website", "a 10 year celebration video especially made for their fans", and "interactive playlists and activations across digital platforms."
According to Simon Jones PR, the new website will be launched on July 23, and "will be an immersive and exciting interactive fan experience" – charting the history of One Direction, with an archive containing videos, artwork and behind-the-scenes content. The website will also allow fans to create their own personalised "mixtape" playlist, which can be connected to Spotify or Apple Music.
Also arriving on July 23 is a special video, documenting highlights from the band's career, with a special emphasis on their connection with their fans.
In addition, reformatted EPs are set to be released – featuring b-sides, rarities, remixes, live recordings and acoustic versions of One Direction's tracks.
The group, who have sold over 200 million records worldwide, with over 21 billion streams across all streaming platforms, announced their hiatus in 2015.
