Onion Boys plus special guests have announced two Irish shows in Galway and Dublin.
Onion Boys will be in Dublin at The Workman’s Club on Sunday May 26.
They will also be playing at the Roisin Dubh on Thursday May 23. This will be a free, midnight show in Galway.
Hailing from Dublin, Onion Boys has become known for their flamboyant punk rock n roll style which translates to their incredible stage presence.
The group draws inspiration from 50s rock as well as bands like The Cramps, Birthday Party, Jonathan Richman, Amyl and the Sniffers and Richard Hell.
In an interview with Hot Press' Andrew Walsh, Onion Boys said that when writing songs like 'How To Grow Up (On Tik Tok)', "We’re very strict on not overthinking this stuff. If we get one hot, catchy part, we try to just build off that. We start with beats and riffs, but if we’re hitting blocks, we go with the simplest, easiest element and see what happens. We get catchy phrases and work from that."
Onion Boys have played sold out shows in places like Germany, Athens and Edinburgh. They also performed at the Irish Festival All Together Now. This year, they will return to Edinburgh and tour Germany with funding from Zeitgeist Irland 24 funding an initiative of Culture Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland Germany.
