The Irish singer-songwriter has also announced a headline tour of North America
Dublin native Orla Gartland has announced her second studio album, Everybody Needs a Hero, releasing new single ‘The Hit’ alongside the reveal.
Due for release on October 4, Gartland’s sophomore effort will be released by her own label New Friends, and features production collaboration from Tom Stafford and Peter Miles.
‘The Hit’ will be the 4th single released off the upcoming album, which will feature previously released singles ‘Little Chaos’, ‘Mine’, and ‘Kiss Ur Face Forever’.
'The Hit' is a song about deep empathy in a relationship, which Gartland describes as “A voodoo doll thing…you’re so connected it hurts”
“It’s a nice gesture, because you’re admitting you care about that person so much that when they’re in pain you feel it too, but there’s a point that it can go too far,” she said.

Her 2021 debut album, Woman On The Internet saw Gartland reach #3 on the Irish Album Charts, and earned a nomination for Album of the Year at the RTÉ Choice Music Awards.
Gartland has also announced a 13-date tour of North America, which will see shows across the US and Canada. All venues have sold out, bar one.
