MCD have announced details of some of the fringe events that will be happening on the Oxegen campsites.
Thursday night campers – the sites open at noon – will be able to limber up for the rock ‘n’ roll weekend ahead with The Stone Roses Experience, Oasisalikes Definitely Might Be and Hells Bells who do a neat line in AC/DC covers.
The Xbox Live Stage with its 46 square metre LED screen and gaming capabilities, returns to the Blue Campsite and will run each day from 2pm to late.
There will also be a nightly Headphone Disco catering for up to 2,500 festival-goers, a funfair in each campsite rather than just the one, BBQ areas where you can fire up disposable barbeques, improved phone recharging facilities, the Pull Parlour Salon for emergency hair styling, make-up, eyebrow shaping and tints and the lads from Scouting Ireland with their tent pitching service.
The best news though is that there’ll be no rude awakenings on the Monday, with the campsites remaining open until 6pm.
